Lexus IS200 PL Black box FCD

The PL Black Box is designed to let you increase the boost in your car without hitting fuel cut. It’s necessary if you’ve, for example, fitted a TTE supercharger kit or a turbo to your Lexus IS200.

An HKS FCD achieves the same thing, but with one major difference. The HKS unit reduces the MAP sensor signal by a fixed percentage, which means the signal reaching the ECU is always corrupt. The Black Box does not alter the signal until just under the fuel cut value, where it clamps it and thus preventing you from hitting fuel cut.

The PL Black Box comes pre-calibrated for the Lexus IS200, but in theory it should work for pretty much any car with a MAP sensor. It was originally a direct replacement for the original TTE Black Box, but it now consists of much more durable and reliable components. I’ve been making these since 2011 and as of 2021 around 500 units have been fitted to Lexuses around the world.
